What is the Bonsai Community?

Overview

The Bonsai Community section of the Bonsai Tree website is set aside for bonsai artists to meet and befriend one another. This is the main goal.

Your Profile

Once signed up a profile will be created for you. You can upload a full size photo for your profile picture and crop the interesting part for its thumbnail so others can see who they are communicating with. You can also create galleries of your trees and link to video clips you may have taken. From your profile you can also send email to anyone you choose, or request to become someone's friend. Many useful and fun features are all accessible from your profile page. And if you are concerned with Security, you needn't be. Become a Friend of other members and communicate directly and easier through Private Messaging.

Groups

A group of friends or members with a common thought or focus might wish to start a Group. In these groups members will be able to create galleries of images pertaining to the group's subject matter. Videos can be uploaded and events can even be announced. A very important part of the Groups element is also the Discussion feature. In this space members may start a discussion with other group members commented or replying on it.

Images and Video

The latest images and video loaded into members profiles will display on the Home page. An list of recent activities will also be visible so you can easily follow what is happening.

Events

Events are another useful feature of the Bonsai Community. Here you can announce future club meetings, tree digs, an exhibition and much more. If you own a bonsai shop or other retail centre you can announce a sale, a promotion or even a new range of products. Viewers of these events will get exact directions thanks to the Google Map which will be displayed.

For those that are linked in with Twitter and Facebook the Bonsai Community is quote well integrated.
