To promote good oxygen exchange in the soil, which leads to a healthy root structure, you need to ensure the growing medium you use to grow your bonsai trees in, is free of fine material which would otherwise clog. When growing medium becomes clogged air is not able to penetrate the root zone, water becomes stagnant and conditions for damaging fungi becomes ideal.
Among the many uses of this sieve set one of them is making top dressing. See the video below.
This soil sieve set includes 3 different screens so you can remove fine material from the basic ingredients you use to make your own bonsai tree growing mediums.
Steel Screens (Not Stainless steel) included are: 2.4mm, 4.8mm and 8mm.

Kikuwa Soil Sieve
I put off buying this piece of equipment for a long time. It has proved to be most useful as I use it every the time I prepare my soil mixes. Highly recommended and just the right size!

Good product
Does it’s job well. Doesn’t feel very robust though so handle with care. Also rusts easily if it gets wet, so keep dry

Kikuwa Stainless Steel 3 Piece Soil Sieve, 300mm
I have purchased this sieve to supplement the one I bought some years ago, having used it very heavily and successfully to sieve soil fine and two levels of coarseness, Although stainless steel and completely intact one should dry the sieves after use as there is some rust appearing. I strongly recommend this sieve

Top class product, I have gone through a few kitchen sieves, which are not variable(and do not last).this is super easy to use!
