Fired clay is superior to plastic for propagation, developing character over time rather than perishing in the sun. Clay also provides better thermal insulation, which reduces stress on plants by buffering the rapid temperature changes from plastic.

Note! Growing in unglazed containers such as these, moisture loss is higher compared to glazed pots. If you want to combat this, rather choose Japanese Marukou containers which are fired at higher temperatures and resist mould growth.
