Description

Purchased in Japan during the Autumn of 2021, this Japanese red pines most attractive feature {for me at least} is its deeply textured bark. This is indicative of an old tree and is a highly desirable feature. The upright bunjingi or literati style in which the tree currently is grown is very typical of the manner in which this species grows wild in the higher parts of Japan.

The nanban style container compliments the tree and is also a collectible Tokoname made ceramic pot.
