Plastic does not go well with Bonsai and what better solution than these stylish Japanese pots! I absolutely love them. Gaps for wires and massive drainage holes. Plus on my first order, one of the pots had a small little crack, Bonsai tree replaced it immediately with no questions asked. Excellent customer service as always.

Hi Gerhard, thank you for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear you love the Japanese pots and appreciate our quick replacement service. Enjoy your tree, its a beauti! Best regards, Bonsai Tree (Pty) Ltd

A well-designed, solid, terracotta pot - I'll definitely buy more of these for the spring re-potting season, as my pre-bonsai need space to fatten up!

“I’ve had the Marukou Japanese terracotta pot for a month now, and it’s instantly elevated my entryway. The clay has that muted, iron-rich tone and subtle hand-thrown texture that makes every shadow look intentional. It drains beautifully — my olive tree stopped sulking after the first week — and the walls are thick enough to keep roots cool in Krugersdorp afternoons but still light enough to move. Minimal, honest, and obviously made by people who care about material. It costs minimal, and it looks (and functions) like it’ll last for years. Highly recommend if you prefer quiet quality over flash.”

Japanese Marukuo Terracotta Pot

I bought this beautifully crafted pot along with a Japanese black pine seedling on the suggested advice of Bonsai Tree who recommended I only re-pot the seedling in Spring for best results. Until then, the pot is safely stashed away indoors for now. The two tone pot itself is nicely finished with a shiny ultra smooth glazed lip and will confidently add to my small but growing collection of bonsai trees. I look forward to Spring and it containing my black pine bonsai.

Marukou Pots

Excellent quality training pots with holes for stabilising wire when potting up a tree. So much nicer looking than the regular plastic nursery pots one usually uses.

Improved Clay pots

Start using them this Sept 2021. They are of good quality and I do not need to drill anchor wire holes as they are already there. Yes I am lazy I call it time saving. I love the clay pots as they make growing benches look neater and they work well. Thanks again for another super product Terry and James.
