These unglazed terracotta bonsai containers imported from Japan and made in Japan are ideal for developing bonsai, growing bulbs, azaleas or other plants which have a shallow root system. In Japan they are referred to as "garden" pots and are used widely for their versatility.
Fired at higher temperatures than the terracotta Deroma containers, these terracotta Marukou containers do not leach nutrients through the walls and encourage mould growth in the process. They will also extract water from the growing media at a lower rate.
Select your required terracotta container size from the list above. Containers are not sold as a set.
Drainage is provided by bottom holes. There are also wire holes for securing your plant.
Dimensions are always external and sometimes differ slightly from stated.
Good value for money and excellent service as usual.
They look amazing in my aquarium and thanks for showing me your vast range. I will be back to get some more soon!
I bought this beautifully crafted pot along with a Japanese black pine seedling on the suggested advice of Bonsai Tree who recommended I only re-pot the seedling in Spring for best results. Until then, the pot is safely stashed away indoors for now. The two tone pot itself is nicely finished with a shiny ultra smooth glazed lip and will confidently add to my small but growing collection of bonsai trees. I look forward to Spring and it containing my black pine bonsai.
Love these pots. Simple but soft on the eye. Full credit to Bonsai Tree for the packaging.
I continue to use these pots as a novice Bonsaier, as they are very good value for money and very good quality. What makes them even better are the variety of sizes and my plants that I have potted or repotted in these pots are thriving and happy.
