    • Superior Drainage: Prevents root rot—the primary enemy of conifers—by allowing water to pass through freely while maintaining essential oxygen pockets. Fines have also been sifted.
    • Structural Integrity: These inorganic components resist breaking down, ensuring your trees thrive for years between repottings without soil compaction.
    • Nutrient Retention: The high Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) of the Akadama ensures your Bonsai Fertilizers are held in the substrate and delivered efficiently to the roots.
    • The Bio-Active Edge: Infused with 5% Agricarb (Macadamia Nut Biochar). This sustainably sourced additive creates a permanent habitat for beneficial mycorrhizal fungi, which are essential for conifer health and nutrient uptake

    Specifications:

    • Composition: 31.6% Akadama, 31.6% Pumice, 31.6% Lava Rock, 5% Agricarb.
    • Particle Size: Professionally sifted to 3mm–6mm to remove dust and fines.
    • Best For: All Conifer species including Japanese Black Pine, Juniper, Deodar, Cypress and more. Additionally species which prefer less water retention. 

    Please note: This premium product is sifted to remove fines however some fines may be present when you receive it due to avoidable friction of the particles during transport.
