Consultation

Over the years Terry has been instrumental in my own development and respect for Bonsai. While his videos are fantastic on the technical side, I still struggle with finding inspiration for styling - which is why I scheduled in a consultation with him. He took me through the nursery, explained the background of why he decided on specific styling and in the end this helped me grow my confidence in my own collection.

Terry recently spent two days with me going through each of my trees and teaching me how to care for them in a much more professional manner. Have been tinkering with bonsai trees for a number of years with average results.
Having spent time with Terry last spring on repotting , I decided to consult with him at his home this time.
What an afternoon. Actually seeing how good styling , grafting etc should done using three of my trees,
but having his collection as a reference, was a highly motivating experience. I learnt more techniques in one afternoon than
I could understand from books . Truly another step forward on a journey to grow better bonsai trees.

Being a complete novice we attended one of Terry's workshops - wow doesn't cover it. He helped turn our shrubs into Bonsai! His advise and leading has given us so much confidence in re potting and wiring. We still have a lot to learn but with Terry's patience and clear explanations we look forward to the next course.

I've been growing bonsai for a number of years but felt a little uncomfortable repotting a pine that I'd bought from Terry a year or so ago. I booked a consultation session with Terry to repot the pine and also discuss future design potential. This was an extremely valuable hands-on session that helped bring to life what I'd only read about in books or online before. I'll definitely look at booking future sessions for help in making design decisions or for a better understanding of the nuances of specific tree species.

I left my bonzai with Terry and he did a wonderfull job on re shaping my Acacia Sieberiana.
It was an extensive makeover and the relults are very pleasing.

We booked a session with Terry to come and look at our inherited trees . He sorted them out and they are now thiving . The whole experience was informative , interesting and very pleasant .

I booked a consult with Terry to get some help as I have “inherited” a couple of Bonsai. He not only got me kitted ot with basic necessities but had me shaping and wiring in no time. I still have a long way to go to get to a decent level of competency but now have the confidence to keep on trying. I will also be back for more one on one sessions with Terry.

When you see Terry’s trees you will understand why I booked a workshop. I’ve been doing bonsai for a few years and it’s great to get Terry’s advice and eyes on my work so I can continue to grow and refine my skills.

The one on one session of re potting my pines was a pleasant experience.I have limited knowledge when it comes to pines let alone re- potting.It was my first introduction to Akadama as well and i am very pleased with the results.The trees are doing well and growing .Terry experience was very re- assuring to me .This year , I will be back for restyling my trees
