Bought my first Nepenthes (from a different online vendor) in May 2024, and was rather disappointed by it - it arrived without any pitchers, and in the more than eight months that I've had it since, it hasn't even looked like producing a single pitcher. How much of that was due to my ignorance with the plant type and its required humidity levels, and how much was due to me receiving a substandard specimen, remains up for debate. Nevertheless, it made me skeptical about my ability to grow Nepenthes successfully.
That being said, I purchased this one from Bonsai Tree in November 2024 (mainly for comparison purposes, in order to try to answer the above question), and have also acquired a room humidifier to try and improve the conditions for both plants. The one from Bonsai Tree at least arrived with pitchers (four to be precise), although three of them quickly died off. Since getting the humidifier in December 2024, it has grown one new pitcher from scratch itself, which just opened its lid the other day. Still nothing as yet from the first plant.
So with very high humidity levels and a decent level of bright shade now available for both Neps, I am leaning towards my first one being substandard (unless I really abused it too much in the past with too much direct sunlight and too little humidity, and it's really taking its time to recover). Either way, the new one from Bonsai Tree is finally winning my heart over towards Nepenthes, and I won't be buying my carnivorous plants from anywhere else again!

So glad I bought this little plant. It is amazing watching the tiny pitchers take shape, and the prospect of taking care of something exotic felt daunting but a healthy plant and the YouTube tutorials by Terry makes it so easy. Looking forward to expand my collection.
